Riding Horses - Stallions & Geldings:

Featured Geldings and Stallions under saddle include:

  • FOR SALE: RACONTEUR, 1998 Imported Dutch gelding by Houston, 17.1hh. Big movement to match his size yet light, sensitive and quick to the aids. International quality with super piaffe, passage, pirouette ability and all Grand Prix movements confirmed. Recent digital x-rays and vet exam. Video links below.

Video from a recent schooling session demonstrates that the critical elements of the Grand Prix test are all in place. This is a working training video, and NOT intended to present the horse in show form. As training continues, the movements are continually being refined to prepare Raconteur for a Grand Prix competition debut. He is a horse with presence who will get his rider noticed.
Click on the following blue links to view schooling video of:

- Working trot into piaffe-passage tour

- Piaffe and passage into piaffe pirouette

- Single tempi flying changes

- Working canter pirouette / 2 tempi sequence

- Smaller canter pirouettes

- Extended trot to left and right

- Trot half-pass to left and right

- Extended trot to piaffe

- All of these movements are executed without sacrificing a clear 4-beat tempo in the walk.

Above, as a newly imported 3 year-old not yet started under saddle and, below and at right, today. A               lovely boy! He has come a long way, and can take an experienced rider to the top.

  • COMING SOON: ADONIS, 1998 Swedish gelding by 2-time Olympic stallion, Amiral. 15.3hh with a lovely neck set that gives him lots of presence and the look of a larger horse. Gorgeous gaits like his sire (who received an all 10's on walk, trot and canter) with confirmed FEI movements. Fun, light, sensitive, not a schoolmaster. This boy can dance and will be very competitive. He will be a great partner for a rider with FEI ambition who wants to harness energy, not motivate it.

To see some of Adonis's trot work from a schooling session, click on this link. Additional video footage of his piaffe and passage can be seen, as well as some slow motion footage we've included just for fun. These clips are intended to provide a sense of this "little big man" - NOT show a polished performance. Additional video coming soon.

Photos below show Adonis in collected trot, extended trot, half pass, passage, piaffe and just 'horsin' around." Clearly is a lot of horse in a small package! Adonis will be offered for purchase in 2008 with recent vet inspection and digital x-rays.

  • DIAMO, 2002 Berlin-Brandenburg Gelding with top Westfalen bloodlines imported from Germany in a training agreement with Hesselhof premium dressage horses in Nov. 2007. A distinctive liver chestnut with a gorgeous neckset and tremendous natural suspension under saddle, Diamo has begun his upper level training for eventual sale as an FEI horse in Europe or America.

To see a session of this promising youngster after 8 weeks in training, you may click on the highlighted links to view Diamo doing half-steps in hand as well as some early piaffe work in hand and under saddle with additional training remarks.

In June 2008, we have added video links to show Diamo's progress towards FEI work, including half pass, the Prix St. George half-pirouette / flying change sequence, and the beginning of multi-tempi changes. As this training session shows, he is gaining strength and balance, and should be able to offer a very pleasing performance when the movements are more confirmed.

Below, you can see photos of some of his suspension and nice lateral crossing.

This is a wonderful horse with a lot of promise. Please contact Michael Pineo / High School Farm or Ralph-Michael Rash / Hesselhof if you would like more information about Diamo.

  • WALKABOUT, 2002 Old. Gelding by Wolkenstein II, one of Weltmeyer's most promising sons.  17hh. An impressive horse with a very pleasing shape, super work ethic and good gaits. Amazingly light on his feet for his size; this boy really dances! Easy to train and ride. Not flappable, winner of Donnerhall High Point trophy at his first dressage show in 2006, clinic's easily and will make a good campaigner. Solid piaffe / passage / pirouette and confirming single tempi flying changes. On target to make his FEI debut later this year.
