"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." - Aristotle
High School Farm accepts a limited number of horses to be put in full-time or, under special circumstances, part-time training with USDF Gold Medal rider and FEI rider / trainer Michael Pineo.

Mike focuses on training using the horse's natural instincts to produce correct, light and enthusiastic competitive dressage mounts. He trains all horses personally, without the use of working students or other surrogate trainers.
Horses may be accepted at all levels, from unstarted youngsters to Grand Prix dressage mounts. Horse owners are encouraged (but not required) to take a weekly lesson so that they are able to train, show or simply enjoy themselves.
Stallions are one of Mike's specialities, and we generally have several in training at any given time in addition to mares and geldings. Our facility is designed to accommodate both stallions and mares to provide a positive and safe environment for all.

"3 P's" Clinic
Mike also gives a limited number of clinics for upper level riders to introduce or refine their horses' performance at the piaffe, passage and pirouette. The preferred format for this clinic, which is generally offered only outside of California depending on Mike's schedule, is one day in hand and one to two days working on either the piaffe or passage and pirouette. However, actual lessons are tailored to each rider's biography and their horse's current abilities and talents. Please contact High School Farm for additional information about the "3 P's" clinic.
Sorry, as a training facility we do not have lesson horses or offer public riding lessons.
